The best places to visit in Guadalajara

Chapala Lake
Located on the border between Jalisco and Michoacán, the largest freshwater lake in Mexico is located. Enjoy the sunset from your boardwalk and admire the white pelicans that fly over the lake. Be sure to visit the Ilsa de los Alacranes and Isla Mezcala where you can enjoy the typical snacks of the region.

Tonalá
Its name means “Place where the sun rises” Acquire beautiful crafts with one of the almost 4,000 artisans of Tonalá. Visit the House of Craftsmen, the National Museum of Ceramics, the Parish of Santiago Apostol and the Cerro de la Reina.

Tlaquepaque
Considered one of the Mexican cities with the greatest artisan tradition, in Tlaquepaque you can find the best pieces of ceramics and pottery. You will not get tired of touring its beautiful streets. Its colonial churches, traveling mansions and flowery flowers will make you fall in love!

Mariachi Square
Guadalajara, land of Mariachi! Your visit to this historic city will not be complete without hearing the sound of the Mariachis. Enjoy traditional dance, while rejoicing to the rhythm of typical regional songs and savor a good tequila.

Degollado Theater
Located in the heart of the historic center of Guadalajara, this historic theater has housed the city’s cultural scene since the mid-19th century. Admire its magnificent architecture, its monumental roof or the extraordinary mural of Roberto Montenegro. Hopefully you can enjoy a cultural show like a concert by the Jalisco Symphony Orchestra.

Guachimontones Archaeological Zone
Declared Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO, this mysterious archaeological zone is located in the town of Teuchitlán, Jalisco. Characterized by including several constructions of unique architectural style such as pyramids surrounded by circular courtyards, ball games and an amphitheater.
